Something Special, in Turre, opened for business on Thursday 3rd September 2020, although Julie entered into discussions to take over the shop in March. Due to the Covid pandemic, it was in June she finally received the keys. 
With an eye for interior design she transformed the shop, stocked it full of new furniture and second hand furniture, which she reforms and hand paints (sometimes to customers specific requirements), beautiful home decor, soft furnishings, jewellery, bags, gifts, mirrors…..with items starting from as little as €5, there is something for everyone. Something Special is the sole stockist in Spain of the most stunning Swarovski crystal liquid art pictures.
Julie has a keen eye and sources once loved furniture. She restores and hand paints each piece, then dresses them with beautiful bespoke handles. Demand has occasionally outstripped supply! Customers know if they have a specific item of their own furniture they want painting to their own requirements, they just need to contact Julie and she will deal with collection, restoration and delivery.
On the day Something Special opened, Andalucia had just come out of lockdown, but there were severe restrictions in place, one of which was only five customers in the shop at any given time. This created a queue outside the shop! Julie offered an appointment system, which, alongside normal operating hours, was very successful.
2 Years on, Julie is launching a new website. This has been brought about due to unprecedented orders of some of the shops larger items eg; mirrors, pictures, sofas….etc. These orders are not just locally. Customers from other regions in Spain, the UK, Europe….are requesting items be delivered direct to their home.Julie had always considered having a website, but brought the idea forward, due to public demand.
From day one Julie has been overwhelmed with the support Something Special has received. The wonderful reviews continue, with over 1000 followers on Facebook. She truly appreciates each like, share and comment.Julie is grateful to every single customer who has been into the shop, made enquiries and for the continued support.
